TAYV Movie Night - Nominations!

Hello Hello, no time to chat really! So thanks to everyone for throwing out their suggestions and I apologize for the delay! Your nominations to follow with a brief description on each movie that you all will need to vote on. The polls will close late Friday with the winner to be announced over the weekend. Reminder that the next TAYV Movie night will be held on Thursday, August 22nd at 9 p.m. As per usual, we will meet in an AIM chatroom. The point of contact for this movie night will be Sylverfyst. **Ghost Shark (on Syfy) (2013)


Note that this airs on August 22nd on Syfy at 9 p.m. EDT. Something about sharks. The ghost of a shark. Murder. Arms washing up on shore and well, it's SYFY. I don't think you need much more explaining than that.

Attack the Block (2011)

A British monster movie, the plot centres around a teenage street gang who have to defend themselves from predatory alien invaders.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2008)


A romantic horror film, Birdemic tells the story of a romance between the two main characters as their small town is attacked by birds.

Hot Fuzz (2007)


An Action Comedy, the film follows two police officers attempting to solve a series of mysterious deaths in a small English village.

Jacob's Ladder (1990)


A psychological horror film, the story centers around Vietnam Veteran Jacob Singer, whose experiences both prior to and during the war have resulted in strange flashbacks and bizarre hallucinations that continue to haunt him in his everyday life.

Miami Connection (1987)


The synth rock band Dragon Sound, consisting of five University of Central Florida students, embarks on a crime-crushing campaign for justice on the streets of Orlando against groups of cocaine smugglers and ninjas.

Rubber (2010)


Rubber is a 2010 French comedy film about a tire that comes to life and kills people with its psychic powers.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)


British zombie comedy directed and co-written by Edgar Wright and co-written and starring Simon Pegg alongside Nick Frost. Pegg plays Shaun, a man attempting to get some kind of focus in his life as he deals with his girlfriend, his mother and stepfather. At the same time, he has to cope with an an apocalyptic uprising of zombies.

Things (1989)


The film centers on a husband whose fanatical desire but inability to father children drives him to force his wife to undergo a dangerous experiment. This results in hatching a non-human life form in his wife's womb, and the birth of a multitude of THINGS.
