If you haven’t heard (and how couldn’t you have), the fine folks at Nintendo have announced they plan to release a Mini NES console this November packaged with 30 classic titles and wave after wave of nostalgia inducing gameplay. But what about the future of mini Nintendo consoles? What about the (vastly superior) SNES?

In this hypothetical situation Nintendo has asked YOU (or maybe US) to come up with a list of the 30 best Super Nintendo games to pack into a sleek new Mini SNES. Which games do you choose?

Here are my top 30 picks (in alphabetical order):

  • Aladdin
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Battletoads and Double Dragon
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest
  • Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie’s Double Trouble
  • EarthBound
  • F-Zero
  • Final Fantasy III
  • Harvest Moon
  • Kirby Superstar
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • NBA Jam
  • Pilotwings
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Street Fighter II
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch Out
  • Tetris Attack
  • TMNT IV: Turtles in Time
  • Wild Guns
  • Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Note: SimCity has been replaced with Harvest Moon. Because... I forgot about it and like it more.

I’m sure I covered many players favorites with my list, so instead of making you type of a list of 30 games you feel are essential to the SNES library you should simply tell me which games I should have included or which should be omitted. Or both! I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
