The 72 Hour Gaming Marathon of Love (June 16-19th)

Illustration for article titled The 72 Hour Gaming Marathon of Love (June 16-19th)

So here it is and here we are. In a little over 12 hours, I will begin the 72 hour gaming marathon. It will be over on my twitch page HERE.

Why is this happening? Well, firstly, I'm on vacation. Secondly, my job is all physical and outside so I have no problem with staying inside for three days. Thirdly, I've been wanting to play a whole bunch of older games, some for the first time and this seemed like the quickest way to do that. Want to know which games I'm playing? Check out right over HERE.

Beyond that though, I'm doing this because I love gaming and I want to promote positivity in gaming. A belief that gaming is still getting stronger and better, even while we reflect on some fantastic older times. I want to share stories about growing up with gaming, I want to talk with the chat about it and what they've experienced and loved and I just want everyone to have a good time free of constant trolling, meme-spamming and overt negativity.

There really isn't a whole lot to be worried about as far as staying awake or as far as being healthy throughout goes. I've got fruit, some healthy snacks and drinks as well as some bigger food, which I will obviously devour during my scheduled breaks, where I will also shower and feed my cats. No poopsocking it in here, no sir. We keep things clean and fresh.

As for the pic up there, The Swapper will be played and I really hope I get some people tuned in for it, particularly those who have not heard of it because it deserves more attention. I know it got really good reviews but it's hard to express how strongly I feel for the game.

Anyway, if you'd like to drop in and watch some, say hello, feel free. I have a donation button but I don't really have any donation goals. If, for some reason, someone does donate to me, I'll likely use it to either get a stream setup for console so I can actually start real streamed attempts at the game I speedrun (Zone of the Enders 2) or I'll donate all of it towards Doctors Without Borders during SGDQ. The first donation will result in me eating a bowl of my newly acquired Cinnamon Roll Cap'n Crunch using a bottle of iced mocha as the milk. Other donations will likely result in me giving out steam keys to a few games here and there like Grid 1. And I'll probably buy someone a copy of The Swapper.

Hope to see you guys there! It starts at half past noon Central Time with a nice music lead in while I get everything set up and then I'll greet whoever's around and begin at 1pm.
