Hey everyone, AlmightyDuke here! Welcome to the Graveyard Shift, the nightly chat space on Talk Amongst Yourselves, Kotaku’s reader-run blog, where you can talk about all the nerd culture you want. Whether you’re a long time TAY member or a newbie trying to say hello, take some time to introduce yourself.

So I’ve started playing this game called Nioh. You may have heard of it. Think of it as a blend of Ninja Gaiden, Bloodborne, and Diablo. I’ve only played the first main mission, but the combat has me hooked. Which is no surprise since I’m a fan of the Soul series. The different stances, weapon styles, ninjitsu has got me so excited to get further in. One of the cool features of the game are the Guardian Spirits. I’m currently using the green one which I believe is wind. Every time I bust it out, I feel like it’s activating Genji’s ultimate from Overwatch. Which brings me to my next point.

I’ve been playing a lot of Overwatch of late. Which is nice, since I really hadn’t touched it all that much since launch. It took me a few matches before I got back into the swing of things and getting to know the newer maps, Oasis and Eichenwald. I’m horrible with most of the offense characters besides Soldier 76 and McCree. I play a defense charcater every now and then and it’s usually Mei or Junkrat with an odd Widowmaker every now and then. It’s tank and support characters are my bread and butter. I love me some Roadhog and Reinhardt. Nothing is more satisfying as Roadhog player than nailing a Genji with the hook. Those who know what I’m talking about will enjoy this:

Have you been playing any Overwatch lately? If so, character choices? What about the Souls series and Nioh? Do you enjoy the gritty difficulty of the games?

Don’t like team based objective games or third person hack and slash RPG? Well have no worries! Talk amongst yourselves, The Graveyard Shift is open for business.
