Hey everyone! Welcome to the Graveyard Shift, the nightly hang-out hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about anything - your lives, your gaming habits, or whatever else you desire. Hop on in and join the discussion! When you're done here, you could always go check out the articles over at TAY or TAYClassic! Or, if this is your first time at TAY, please check out this TAYtorial!

Lots of games have got stuff coming out for them soon, it seems like. Destiny is going to have its House of Wolves DLC coming out shortly, Grand Theft Auto V will finally release heists on February 24th, Hyrule Warriors has the Majora's Mask Pack heading state-side tomorrow, and a few PC games, like Guild Wars 2 and The Sims 4, have recently had expansions announced.

You get more content. You get more content. Everyone gets more content!

Well, kind of. I know not everyone is the biggest fan of DLC. I'm still pretty lukewarm about it unless it adds a ton of new content myself, but that's not the point. At least, not directly. I figured since we're having so many games releasing additional content lately and we seem to be in a small post-holiday release hiatus, we can just talk about our favorite DLC! This could be an add-on, an expansion pack, or just regular run-of-the-mill DLC.

I think my favorite add-on for anything for forever was Black & White: Creature Isle. I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of the story in the original game—instead I just kind of hung around and played God (literally), screwing with all the smaller towns to get them to believe in me, or throwing some of their villagers into the water if they were being patoots. You know, godly stuff. But Creature Isle made it more… approachable, I suppose.

It was like, "Lets make a weird Molyneux game, but also revolve it around collecting and befriending a bunch of titanic animals." It was like the grimmest version of Tamagotchi ever—and I totally adored it. Clean up your pet? Check. Feed it? Triple check—with wheat, animals, or people. Teach it good habits? Well, no, because you could teach it any habits. Want that one village to believe in you? Go send a giant freaking bear that will electrocute them all with lightening before eating them. That'll make them believe in… something. The Great Bear Goddess, I guess.

Plus, you could totally go make them fight one another. Or race. Or whatever. It was like Pokemon but with real animals—except it made it not be creepy by making the animals stand on their back legs and cast magic. Yep. Totally helped.

Anyway, that's enough about Black & White. What are some of your favorite examples of DLC (or Add-Ons) done right, TAY? Maybe you'd rather be pessimistic and talk about the bad ones instead? Put it all down below!

Don't care for additional content? Favorite flavor of ice cream is vanilla? Still raiding Molten Core? Well then, feel free to talk about life, love, gaming, or whatever else you desire. The Wednesday Graveyard Shift is now open!
