Hey everyone! Welcome to the Graveyard Shift, the nightly hang-out hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about anything - your lives, your gaming habits, or whatever else you desire. Hop on in and join the discussion! When you're done here, you could always go check out the articles over at TAY or TAYClassic! Or, if this is your first time at TAY, please check out this TUTorial!
Well, I was playing Animal Crossing today and couldn't help notice that when I went to visit Gracie Grace's shop that there were two fantastic hats on display. While I wanted them both, I knew that ultimately I could only wear one. Not to mention the fact that I had absolutely nothing to wear with either of them. Sadly, I couldn't choose, so I let them sit there, knowing full and well that they might spoil before I ever had a chance to pick them up again. Perhaps I should have gotten them and gifted them to a nearby villager... but they don't really wear hats, do they?
Before this chance encounter, I was convinced that Team Fortress 2 held the title for best hats, especially with the Magnificent Pile o' Hats, but now I'm not nearly as sure as I used to be. With darling contenders in the Animal Crossing universe like the fruit hats and the bear hood, maybe Animal Crossing might be able to beat Valve at their own game.
That is, of course, until Valve buys Nintendo.
It's actually open topic tonight, so feel free to talk about whatever you desire. Of course, if you do truly want to talk about hats in video games, feel free—I certainly won't stop you. Otherwise, talk about life, love, gaming, or whatever. The Wednesday Graveyard Shift is now open!
