"Every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world's phenomena intersect, only once in this way, and never again." - Herman Hesse

With the Summer Games Done Quick marathon coming up in less than a week, and the European Speedster Academy (ESA) putting on their own marathon speedrunning stream right now, it seems like the talents of these speedrunners are being celebrated more than they usually are, and it's not hard to see why. Some of the things these people are able to pull off are incredible, and things I wouldn't even think are possible.

Welcome to the Thursday Graveyard Shift. Tonight, we're going to talk about you once again, especially since I loved all of the responses to last Thursday's shift. Everyone has something trait or ability about them that makes them unique, something that makes them stand out. What is this for you? In other words, what do you feel is your most memorable talent or trait? This can be as personal or impersonal as you want it to be, and can be related or unrelated to games.

For myself, I'm pretty musical. I've dabbled in just about every instrument, from three different flutes, to a mountain and hammer dulcimer, to a violin, a guitar, and even the piano. But out of all of the things that I've played, I've loved percussion instruments the most, mainly my drums. I took lessons for it for a few years before wandering off and self-teaching myself what I felt like I needed to know, and now I play a few different types of percussion, most recently picking up the bodhrán.

Gaming wise, I mentioned way back when that I used to play the ever-living heck out of Halo:CE, so when Halo 2 finally came out, I expected to play it just as much as the first one. While it wasn't as entertaining for me, it did end up being one of the games in the whole series I managed to beat on Legendary without dying. That took quite a lot of turtling and angry restarts, though.

So, again, the question for the night is, what is one of your most memorable talents or traits (gaming related or otherwise)?

Did the topic just not interest you? Feel free to use this to talk about your day, share some interesting news, or whatever else you desire! The Thursday Graveyard Shift is now open!
