Hey everyone! Welcome to the Graveyard Shift, the nightly hang-out hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about anything - your lives, your gaming habits, or whatever else you desire. Hop on in and join the discussion! When you're done here, you could always go check out the articles over at TAY or TAYClassic! Or, if this is your first time at TAY, please check out this TUTorial!
During some of the preparation for the TAY Run Club, I began to remember something about myself that I hadn't thought of for a long time: I'm a sucker for formatting. Don't get me wrong, it's not something that happens to me all the time. Rather, it's something that only comes up whenever I'm working with things digitally. I can have a messy desk, I can miss a spot when I'm painting something, but heaven forbid if I can't get that picture to right align properly.
Anyways, the reason I brought this up is because I couldn't help but notice that a few of my skins for Rainmeter weren't working when I began writing this (which was Thursday, January 9th - TUT ripped the shift away from me, so it had to wait until now). It took me ages to figure out, and I apparently panicked so much that I killed my connection, but it all turned out to be because wunderground.com was down for some of the 8th and most of the 9th. The point is that the fact that part of my desktop wasn't working drove me absolutely insane.
For the sake of clarity, here is my Persona 4 themed desktop:
My desktops have always had tons of work put into them. Maybe it's not great work, but it is a decent amount of hours on my part. And the strange thing is that I have no idea why I focus on it so much. Maybe it's a weird feeling of accomplishment, or my way of decorating something important to me, but ... I can't help but tinker with it every year or so.
Anyways! That's enough out of me and my desktops. What about you all? Are there any things you obsess over and try to get absolutely perfect? Maybe it's something like your car, or your home, or even your games. Talk about it down below!
Have you never been one for perfection? Well, feel free to talk about life, love, gaming, or whatever you desire. The Friday Graveyard Shift is open for discussion!
