Hello everyone, and welcome to the The Graveyard Shift, which is hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about life, video games, or anything else you want, so feel free to hop in and join in the topic discussion, or anything else you want. Then, when you're done, feel free to dive into other articles on TAY and TAYCLASSIC. Is this your first time on TAY? Then check out this handy TAYtorial!
So, I watched Space Dandy last night. It's something. I went in there really not expecting much, given the quick impressions I had of the show after seeing it mentioned here on TAY, and . . . It's gorgeous. Seriously, it's been a while since I've seen such a beautifully animated anime. It's so colorful, so dynamic, so . . . I can't describe it, really. Just the richness of the colors and the twists and turns the show has. It's amazing. Throw in some nice music, and it just feels good. It's crazy. I didn't expect to like it that much. And I simply can't get the ED out of my head, either.
So, uhm . . . Yea. It's a really "feel good" show, and I know that's why I like it. I kinda hope it becomes my "comfort anime" of the season, due to the given reasons. And well, almost gonna piggyback off the Open Forum from today . . . What are shows you watch that just make you feel good and cheer you up, no matter how many times you've seen it? They're not the shows that you watch for the plot. Or for the content. It's the shows that just work, somehow, and no matter how stupid they may be (And you acknowledge they're stupid) . . . You still watch 'em.
