Hey everyone! Welcome to the Graveyard Shift, the nightly hang-out hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about anything - your lives, your gaming habits, or whatever else you desire. Hop on in and join the discussion! When you're done here, you could always go check out the articles over at TAY or TAYClassic! Or, if this is your first time at TAY, please check out this TUTorial!

Alright, so, the year is finally beginning to wind down. The Holidays right around the corner. In fact, Thanksgiving is actually just next week for those of us in the States. I've got a lot of things planned. Family is coming in, friends are coming in, friends of family are coming in - it's going to be great. It's going to be huge. And it's going to be exhausting.

The one thing I'm looking forward to is the fact that the big sales apparently start next week, so I'm more than likely going to be hitting up the malls and Amazon for last minute Christmas presents for the family ... and, you know, a few for myself. Couldn't hurt - I think I earned it, anyways. The problem I'm having is what to get for my immediate family, since they're all pretty picky.

So far, I'm thinking about buying my older brother a 3DS. That special edition one is coming out soon for the new Zelda game, so that might be the one I'll go for. I kind of owe him extra anyways since I skimped out on his birthday present this year. I know I'm going to pitch in for gift-from-the-kids deal for my mother, and I found a stockpile of things I could get for my father. I just need to solidify plans, basically, and just hope that they enjoy them more than they did the gifts from the previous year.

So, with that, on to the topic: Gifts! Are there any gifts you're particularly proud of getting for someone? Maybe there are some gifts that you're amazed that someone managed to find for you? Let us know!

[PS - Don't share what you're doing for Secret SanTAY this year. Duh.]

Did the topic not interest you? Well then, feel free to use this to talk about your day, share some interesting news, or whatever else you desire! The Thursday Graveyard Shift is now open!

As a side-note, I probably will not be able to monitor or host this discussion next week. It will more than likely be in a completely Open Forum format rather than having a topic to talk about. Unless you want to talk about food. Or if someone else from the Graveyard Shift Volunteer list would like to help out, that'd be great!
