Following the shake-up at Konami, I’ve been feeling a little worried about how Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would fare. Would it be damaged or delayed in any way? Would it be compromised following Hideo Kojima’s departure? Was there any need for me to worry at all?
It turns out that MGSV fans probably don’t need to worry after all, at least in regards to the SCOPE of the game. A Metal Gear Solid V preview event occured/is occuring at Konami LA headquarters, and the tweets coming out of it (retweeted by Konami themselves) are making the wait until September 1st UNBEARABLE.
It sounds like there’s SO MUCH TO DO.
Peace Walker managed to feel expansive and varied, even when you take into consideration its compromised, portable nature. If MGSV can improve on this the way traditional open-world games can, we’re very much onto a good thing.
Unfortunately us peons must wait until September 1st to scratch D.D.’s wonderful wolf belly.
That must be one slippery sheep to be that satisfying to catch.
Play for most of your waking day, beat 4% of the game. I’m in Metal Gear Heaven.
Not only is The Phantom Pain 200x larger than Ground Zeroes, but it will be chock full of Bases, military installations and other daunting, yet oh so exciting locations. It really sounds incredible. Let me touch it.
TELL US MORE, GREG.
Unfortunately embargo for this MGSV preview event runs until June 9th. Until then, these tweets are all we’re allowed to see. It’s like being told you’ll be made a millionaire... In 10 years. How do you even wait for that? What do you even do?
All I know is I have a Collector’s Edition waiting for me in some warehouse somewhere. If only I could Fulton it out of there...
