I'm really feeling it!

Umbreon! Pokemon One a Day, Series 2!

Day 46

Moonlight Pokemon

When the night relieves the sun of its shift, Umbreon comes out to play - the tarot of the moon is here! In a first for One a Day, a matching illustration follows up Espeon's! This is an exception I made when it came to finding new styles and gave attention to it way back before the series started when I announced it in a write up! I specifically had in mind twin cards for these two and now I've finally gotten around to creating them and putting them together!

I made Umbreon a bit more thicker and more masculine in it's form than the more effeminate and thin body of Espeon - all part of the duality these two share between light and darkness, sun and moon, and so on and so forth. The two look at one another and I designed the cards to be symmetrical when put together, with the same assets.

I did this by creating Espeon first, and then saving the file in Umbreon's name and flipping the assets where it needed change. Drafted up the text and created a moon in lieu of the sun. Teh moon symbol is based off of the Dark type symbol from the TCG as was the sun symbol representing Psychic for Espeon's piece.

Guess that's all for today - should be self explanatory here! Hope you guys like this one and enjoyed the previous Espeon. Here they are together:

Who's your favorite dark type and why?

Exploring the creatures of Gold and Silver, Pokemon One a Day Series 2 can be seen as both a standalone project and expansion to the original marathon of artwork that sought to present one unique new illustration per day. This project builds upon the exploration of personal technical and philosophical concepts and visual styles under daily deadline to create quality works for personal and professional growth.
