Good evening and welcome to Word of the Day! A journey through the English vocabulary and the words that piqued my interest, in WotD we'll be learning a new word for each working day of the week, bar holidays, unless there's a holiday special...

Today's word is:

|ˌnän sh əˈlänt|

  • (of a person or manner) feeling or appearing casually calm and relaxed; not displaying anxiety, interest, or enthusiasm : she gave a nonchalant shrug.

ORIGIN: mid 18th cent.: from French, literally 'not being concerned,' from the verb nonchaloir.

I've been described as a person who really doesn't care about any kind of situation, sometimes I've been told I'm a cold person or that I rarely shows emotion; I've even been told I resemble a French stereotype sans the cigar in one hand and the coffee on the other. Honestly I'm not all that French, I just don't care about stupid dilemmas ^^;
